Puppy Kindergarten Classes

Congratulations on the newest addition to your family! Puppy Kindergarten classes at Airdrie Puppy Pals are the perfect first step for growing dogs ages 8 to 16 weeks. Our small class sizes, with 4 to 8 puppies, ensure plenty of personal attention. Each week, your Puppy Pal will enjoy structured off-leash play and fun, interactive on-leash games, all in a clean, safe indoor environment. Please bring a fixed-length leash (no retractable leashes), your Puppy Pal’s favorite treats, and a copy of their first set of vaccines to the first class. Puppies learn important early skills like name recognition, polite greetings, coming when called, relaxing on a mat, and building confidence with new sights, sounds, and people. Classes also include practice with sit, stay, lay down, gentle walking on leash, and good manners around friends and family.

Why Choose Airdrie Puppy Pals for Puppy Training?

At Airdrie Puppy Pals, our Puppy Classes are held in a dedicated, clean training classroom with a separate entrance from Dog Daycare. All classes are guided by Nikki Nordick, a Certified Dog Training Professional with over 10 years of experience supporting families. Every class is tailored to the group and welcomes different puppies each week, so your Puppy Pal gets safe socialization and practice with new friends. We require all puppies to have their first set of vaccines, and our classroom is cleaned before every class. Thanks to these health precautions, your Puppy Pal can enjoy the important benefits of early socialization and learning in a safe environment.

Flexible, Open-Enrollment Puppy Classes

Our open or rolling enrollment registration means you can register at any time and you do not have to register for back-to-back classes unless you want to. We’ve found that open enrollment offers more flexibility for the members in our Airdrie community. If you can register for four to six consecutive weeks, we encourage it. However, if you can’t (kids, shift work, life!) you’re not going to miss anything.

  • Classes are $32.50 + GST.

  • We ask that each family bring no more than two humans to each class.

You can view class availability and register online by visiting our calendar page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What vaccinations are required for Puppy Class?
A: Please bring a copy of your puppies first set of vaccinations (DHLPP or DA2PP) to our first class together. If you’re curious about the risk versus reward of early socialization, we encourage you to read the AVSAB position statement on puppy socialization.

Q: Why open, or rolling enrollment?
A: With open enrollment, your Puppy Pal meets new friends every week in a safe, indoor space. It’s different from a course where you’re with the same group for several weeks, giving your dog more variety in their early experiences.

Q: How many puppies are in each class?
A: Each group class includes 3 to 8 puppies of all sizes and breeds. Our training classroom is in a separate building from our Dog Daycare, and we have lots of room to help everyone learn and play together.

Q: When can I start?
A: Whenever there is availability! Puppy class is open to dogs of all sizes who are at least 8 weeks, and no older than 16 weeks of age.

Q: How do I register?
A: We offer secure, online registration on our Calendar page.

Q: What if I want one-on-one help? Do you offer Private Training?
A: We sure do! You can learn more about Private Training on our website.
